Launch of 'PrimeFish' project: Kick-off meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland

The kick-off meeting of the Horizon 2020 project PrimeFish was held on April 14th & 15th 2015 in Iceland at the offices of Matis, the co-ordinator of the project. The minister of Fisheries and Agriculture of Iceland, emphasized in his opening speech the key role of fisheries and aquaculture sectors in the European economy and highlighted the need of enhancement in the economic sustainability and competitiveness of this sector.

 Syntesa conducted sessions on Traceability Systems in Mediterranean agronomic institute of Zaragoza

 Syntesa partner, Dr. Heiner Lehr was in charge of two training sessions in the advanced short course of "innovative technologies to enhance the traceability of the food chain" held on 23rd -27th March 2015 in Zaragoza, Spain. The sessions were about the traceability of food products of plant origin, and Specific production systems (e.g. organic, quality label products, halal).

The overall objective of PrimeFish is to enhance the economic sustainability of European fisheries and aquaculture sectors. In PrimeFish an innovative decision support framework will be developed (PrimeDSF), containing economic models and a decision support system (PrimeDSS) that can be used by the industry and policymakers to predict consequences based on existing knowledge and simulation / forecasting models.
